PBP softball wins a close game
Tuesday’s softball game was a back-and-forth battle between Progressive and IFM Efector. Both teams got a lot of hits – and runs.
IFM Efector started the game with its first five batters scoring in the first inning. PBP answered with five runs of its own in the bottom of the first.
5-5 after one.
IFM pulled back ahead, 8-5 by scoring three runs in the second. PBP couldn’t keep pace in that inning, only managing two runs.
But PBP tied the score with a single run in the third. 8-8 after three.
IFM scored three runs in the fourth, and PBP pushed three across in the bottom half of the inning. IFM took the lead, 12-11 after four.
Then PBP pulled ahead with two more runs in the fifth inning, 13-12.
IFM refused to die, scoring four runs in the top of the sixth to take a 16-13 lead. PBP didn’t score in the sixth (the only inning it didn’t score at least one run), but it did shut out IFM in the top of the seventh.
Then PBP scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to win the game, 17-16.
PBP’s record is now 3-4. PBP’s next game is Monday, June 29.

In that game, PBP scored eight runs in both the second and third innings to open up a 20-8 lead after three innings of play.
Using a well-balance attack, eleven of the fourteen PBP players who batted scored at least one run.
