The Richard J. Caron Humanitarian Award is presented to those individuals who continuously demonstrate the same caring and compassionate nature expressed by the Caron’s founder, the late Dick Caron. “Ed is a remarkable community leader who has generously given his time and resources to make a difference in the lives of many families,” said James McManus, Caron’s Regional Vice President in Philadelphia.
In addition to the various business ventures that Ed founded, the Children’s Education Program at Caron is just one of the many philanthropic efforts Ed Satell supports. This one-day program provides children not only with the coping tools needed to handle their parent or sibling’s addiction, but also empowers them to make healthy decisions while improving self-esteem.
“Innocent children suffer when their parents abuse alcohol and drugs,” said Ed Satell. “Caron is a great institution that has helped many families address the seriousness of addiction and achieve successful recoveries.”
The Caron Treatment Center is a nationally recognized non-profit provider of alcohol and drug addiction treatment. For over 50 years, they have provided various treatment options for adolescents, adults, as well as families whom are affected by the disease of addiction.
